Tickle Your Tastebuds: Tallinn Restaurant Week 2016!

The ever popular Tallinn Restaurant Week returns. This year taking place between the 1st and 7th of November.

The event began 6 years ago with just two restaurants and a dream to “promote dining out as a cultural experience among locals and visitors alike”. This year 69 restaurants will be participating.

Lunch menus are priced at 10 or 15 Euros, while dinner menus are priced at 20 or 30 Euros. Prices are dependent on the restaurant and/or the set menu you choose.

To book a table visit the Tallinn Restaurant Week website, choose the restaurant you would like, set menu and the time that is most suitable for you (dependent on availability)

Noa

noa

Noa is one of Tallinn’s best known restaurants. It prides itself on offering an equal culinary experience to vegetarians, seafood lovers and meat eaters alike. The restaurant offers stunning views of Tallinn old town from its location on the other side of the bay at the edge of the city.

Their restaurant week menu is:

Lunch: 

Main: Fried pike perch with ramson potato puree, green asparagus, seaweed dust, ramson capers and green apples

Dessert: Goats cheese cake with raspberries and basil iced cream

Price: 15 Euros

Dinner:

Starter: Green mango and cabbage salad with raw black angus, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin sauce/rye chips, rocket and parmesan

Main: Scallop with katafi, seaweed juice, tom-yum sauce, spring onions and cherry tomatoes

Dessert: Josper Banana with a whiskey-caramel sauce and lemongrass ice cream

Ö

ö

Ö is a sophisticated restaurant located in central Tallinn, specialising in modern cuisine. The founders of Ö hail from Estonia’s largest island Saaremaa and take their inspiration from Nordic nature and fresh locally sourced ingredients.

Their restaurant week menu is (Dinner Only):

Starter: Celery with caramelised butter and whey

Main: Lamb with parsley root and wild apple

Dessert: Horseradish with caramel and buckwheat

Tchaikovsky 

Tchaikovsky

Tchaikovsky is located in the heart of Tallinn’s old town. The restaurant is part of the famous Hotel Telegraaf.

At the end of the 18th century France’s top chefs visited Russia. The fusion of French and Russian cuisine they created is the inspiration and basis for the menu at Tchaikovsky.

Their restaurant week menu is:

Lunch:

Starter: Rabbit pelmeenid with cauliflower and garlic truffle cream

Main: Redtail catfish gratine with potato lemon mash, spinach saute and caper sauce

Price 15 Euros

Main:

Starter: King mackeral with coriander crème and white fish roe burre blanc

Goatling confit with Jerusalem artichoke, lingoberries and fricassee sauce

Chocolate with blueberries and verbena

Price 30 Euros

Note all bookings must be made via the Tallinn Restaurant Week website, no bookings will be available via the restaurants themselves.
